Arrival by car
Drive along motorway A4 (via Cologne/Aachen) and A44 (Dusseldorf/Liege) until Aachen interchange, then follow A4 towards Antwerpen/Heerlen. Take the exit Laurensberg and turn right in direction of Aachen Laurensberg. At the first possibility turn right to Toledoring in direction of Maastricht (Klinikum). In the underpass take the exit RWTH-Melaten, then take the second exit at the roundabout into Forckenbeckstraße. Continue for approx. 1 km to find parking at the left (sign WZL/WZL forum), from there approx. 5 minute walk to the institute, follow the signs “WZL/WZL forum”.
Arrival by plane
Flight to Cologne, Dusseldorf or Maastricht (Netherlands). From the airport by rental car (approx.. 100 km from Cologne or Dusseldorf, approx. 35 km from Maastricht) via motorway A4 or A44 to Aachen. By train to Cologne central station or S-Bahn (suburban train) to Dusseldorf central station, then change train to Aachen central station (Aachen Hbf) or Aachen West station.
Arrival by train
Take a train to Aachen central station (Aachen Hbf) or Aachen West station. Then take a taxi to the institute or go by bus from bus stop Hauptbahnhof with bus line 3B, from bus stop Aachen West with bus line 3A to bus stop RWTH Campus or with bus line 13B to bus stop Turmstraße, then change to line 12 or 22 until bus stop Wilfried-König-Straße, from there approx. 5 minute walk to the institute, follow the signs “WZL/WZL forum”.
Parking possibilities and parking ticket
There are only few parking possibilities within spitting distance to the institute. Use the central parking Forckenbeckstraße if possible. 5 minute walk to the institute.
On July 1, 2011, RWTH Aachen University introduced a parking space management on its parking areas. This means that you need a parking ticket for Parking zone U for your visit to one of our events, in case you arrive by your own car or a rental car. The corresponding parking areas can be found on the central parking Forckenbeckstraße (detailed description in your registration confirmation, please enter “Forckenbeckstraße, 52074 Aachen” in your navigation device). Please place the ticket clearly visible in your vehicle. Your parking ticket is not valid for the parking areas with the designation “S”, “Gast” or “Besucher Campus GmbH”, but only for parking area U. The ticket is only valid on the specified date. The parking authorization is checked by the service staff of RWTH Aachen University. Vehicles parked illegally are towed for a fee. If you require a parking ticket, you can reorder one until the event.
